Incidents reported in Indian news: what happened, to whom, and with what vehicles or assets — as reported, one article-cluster per record, laid out across the client's three sheets.

What this page does

These are the columns you get in the spreadsheet. For each one you give a name, the kind of value it holds, the tab it goes on, and an instruction telling the AI what to look for in the article. Use Add field for a new column, Remove to delete one, then Save changes. Clear the name box to delete a field as well.

Write the instruction carefully. It is the only thing telling the AI what belongs in the column, so say what to include and what to leave out. A column is left empty when the article does not support it, which is the right answer — an empty cell is better than a guessed one.

Tabs

Type a tab name against a column and it goes on that tab of the spreadsheet. Separate names with commas to put the same column on more than one tab — a date or a city usually belongs on all of them. Leave the box empty and the column goes on the single default tab.

Tabs come out in the order their first column appears below, and columns come out in the order they are listed. So to move a column, move its row; to move a whole tab, move its first column.

Key column decides which rows a tab shows. A tab lists a record only when at least one of its key columns has something in it — that is what keeps a tab of people from repeating every record that merely has a date. Set none and the tab lists everything.

NEVER the driver at fault, the accused, an arrested person, a police officer, an official, or a relative giving a statement; they have their own columns, `driver_name` and `accused_name`. If the person killed was also the one driving, give the name here AND in `driver_name`. Where several people were hurt, give the one the article leads with and list the rest under People involved. Write the name in English (Latin script) — if the report is in Hindi or another Indian language, give the standard English spelling of the name, never the original script. Empty when nobody is named. A statement that someone was 'at fault' or 'responsible' is NOT non-accidental suspicion. Records what the article says, never your own inference. If in doubt, false. Coverage of the aftermath still counts: a court hearing, an inquest, an arrest or an anniversary piece about one particular event is 'incident'. - 'roundup' — several unrelated events in one story, such as a day of weather causing separate incidents in different places. - 'statistics' — figures, a data release or an official report about accidents in general rather than one of them. - 'analysis' — opinion, policy, explainer or advice. 				The country where the incident happened, worked out from the place names in the article. Indian outlets also report foreign news, so do not assume India: a crash in Charlotte is United States even in an Indian newspaper. Answer with the country name only. Decide from the VENUE, not from who was involved. An Indian businessman who dies abroad died abroad — a death at Windsor's Guards Polo Club is United Kingdom, however Indian the family, the newspaper and the readership are. If the named venue is not in India, the country is not India, and do not then write an Indian state or city into those columns. Ask the AI Key column
				How the person died. Answer with exactly one word: - 'accident' — a crash, a fall, a drowning, a fire, an electrocution: nobody meant it to happen. - 'homicide' — somebody killed them: shot, stabbed, beaten, murdered, run over deliberately. - 'suicide' — they took their own life. - 'natural' — illness, a heart attack, old age. - 'none' — nobody died. Use this whenever the article reports an injury, a threat, an arrest, a dispute or a business story and no death: it is the honest answer, not a failure. - 'unknown' — somebody died and the article does not say how. If none of these fits, LEAVE IT EMPTY — empty is the right answer for most people, and a wrong category puts an ordinary road-accident victim on a sheet of prominent individuals. A taxi driver, a factory worker, a pedestrian, a delivery rider, a student or a person whose occupation the article never states are all empty. 'Business Leader' means a named senior post — Managing Director, CEO, Chairman, Director, Founder, Partner, Owner. An engineer, a manager or an employee of a large company is NOT a business leader. 'Eminent Citizen' is for public standing of another kind: a vice-chancellor, a senior academic, a decorated professional.
